I have three new games to share with you!
The first two are collaborations with Joyce Johnson (of In a Pickle fame) and the third, I am excited to announce, is the first game with my husband’s name on the box! Josh has been a huge part of my game-making for years, but this is the first time he gets to see his name in print. Yay!
1. Say the The Word (published by Peaceable Kingdom)
2. Treasure Trax (my first game published by USAopoly)
3. Shapetigo (my first game published by Mindware)
What’s It? is my newest game. It represents a few firsts:
This past year I have had the opportunity to work with Peaceable Kingdom on a couple of games. They are a super-cool company that focuses on cooperative games. They have been great to work with. Check out their stuff on their website. All their products are high-quality and feature amazing illustrators. They recently launched a new section on their website called Inventor Alley where they do little features on their game designers. Cool, right? You can check out my feature here. Fun stuff! I will post more about the games I am doing with PK as they release, but you can get a little taste of the first one if you read my feature as there is an image of the box (didn’t they do a great job?!) with my feature. And if you like my headshot, you should check out my cousin Kayla’s photography website. Thanks for taking the photo, Kayla!
I just found out that I have been nominated for a TAGIE (Toy and Game Inventor Excellence) Award! Woo hoo! I am incredibly honored to be up for this award — I am among some very talented nominees in the Rising Star Designer category!
You can learn all about the nominees and the TAGIE Awards on the website: www.tagieawards.com
The website is also where you can also VOTE for your favorite nominee in each category!
Here is a bit about the awards:
The TAGIE Awards Dinner is an elegant and playful evening gala that brings together industry leaders from inventors to manufacturers to retailers – for a night of celebration, networking and fun! Held in conjunction with the Toy & Game Inventors Conference (T&GCon) and The Chicago Toy & Game Fair (ChiTAG), the TAGIE Awards are voted on by industry experts, retailers and consumers alike. Honoring recipients for excellence in the categories of Toy Design, Game Design, Young Inventor and Rising Star, the TAGIE Awards recognizes toy and game inventors from across the country, whose playful creativity and inventiveness resulted in some of the most fun and entertaining play products on the market today. We’ll also pay homage to those inventor greats who stand out in the eyes of the toy industry for their exceptionally innovative spirit for fun, philanthropy, and humanitarianism.
